Just Add Style is a luxury silk label co-founded by award winning fashion illustrator Emma Cowlam and highly accomplished branding expert and designer Lisa Kew. Since meeting at a swimming pool in 2007 Emma and Lisa have been firm friends. It's a long story!
Back then Lisa was heading up her own successful design agency Kew Creative which continues to thrive and Emma was studying textile design at Chelsea Art School in London and gathering a wealth of creative industry experience through freelance work.
They instantly formed a special bond which developed during daily post-swim conversations centred upon art, design, style and life. With Emma seeking career advice and some life guidance, Lisa took her under her creative wing and mentored her professionally and personally through the highs (and not-so-highs) of her twenties and her life in London and New York. As Emma’s fashion illustration career flourished, their mentor-mentee relationship progressed into a great friendship.
Their lightbulb moment came when they decided to establish a collaborative studio dedicated to designing the sophisticated and stylish silk womenswear they wanted in their lives.
The Just Add Style story began…
‘London Fashion' was the first in a collection of silk scarves and launched to critical acclaim with the fashion press and online influencers. Just Add Style boasts a growing collection of skinny silk scarves and sleep masks adorned with hand drawn illustrations inspired by the stylish women they witness while working in the fashion and design industries as well as their favourites from the animal kingdom – both wild and domestic! The collection continues to evolve and is gaining a dedicated and loyal following and is now loved and worn by women worldwide.
Recently Emma and Lisa intentionally shifted their studio practice putting Emma at the forefront of ambitiously growing the label whilst supported by Lisa's design consultancy expertise.
Together this creatively talented duo with extensive international design experience have created a uniquely modern silk brand. They strive to inspire and enhance the lives of fabulous women of all ages. They love good style and want to share it with you.
